Skilled Trades Needed Year-Round
Neighbor•Care is always in need of skilled tradespeople who are willing to donate their labor year-round. Contractor pledges of service calls can assist countless homeowners in need throughout Montgomery County. Neighbor•Care pays for the supplies and materials (up to $300 per project) and the participating contractor donates the labor.
Neighbor•Care received a call from Children's Medical Center. An infant on a ventilator was ready to be discharged, but the family's home did not have a dedicated electrical circuit for the ventilator. Neighbor•Care found an electrician who donated her time to modify the family's electrical service to accommodate the machine and the baby was sent home with his family.

Home Repairs/Home Modifications
Neighbor•Care offers year-round support by providing urgently needed home repairs by skilled tradespeople throughout the year, at no cost to homeowners.
Neighbor•Care assists resident homeowners in Montgomery County, including the elderly on poverty-level incomes and low-income homeowners who have families with small children. The program also assists disabled, low-income homeowners who need modifications to remain at home.
To be eligible, homeowners must be faced with a critical need for a minor home repair. If a homeowner is selected, Neighbor•Care purchases the materials, then schedules a time for the repair to be made by skilled workers donating their time.
