National [Re]Building Day and Month

Our biggest volunteer project of the year is National Rebuilding Day, held last Saturday in April. Almost 1,000 volunteers lend a hand in any way they can to improve the community in Dayton and housing for senior citizens in need.  If you can't join us for National Rebuilding Day, we have expanded our efforts to National Rebuilding Month with projects throughout April.

Seasonal Safe @ Home Volunteer

Our neighbors' needs are greater than ever. With our Seasonal Safe @ Home Program, we host volunteer projects throughout the year. Learn more about the program here. Join our mailing list to stay informed of upcoming volunteer opportunities.

Organize a Volunteer Group

Volunteering as a group is an excellent team-building opportunity and a meaningful experience. Throughout the year, we have multiple projects requiring volunteer groups of different skill levels. If you want to learn more about organizing a project, contact Caroline, our Seasonal Safe @ Home Director, at caroline@rtdayton.org.

Safety Kits Drive

Host a Safety Kit Drive at your workplace, organization, or school. These safety kits allow us to eliminate home hazards for the homeowners we assist. Learn more about hosting a drive here. If you can't host a drive, you can purchase items on our Amazon Wish List. Share our Amazon Wish List with family, friends, and colleagues to support Rebuilding Together Dayton.

Skilled Professional

Some of our projects require a higher level of skill. We often need help with carpentry, concrete, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and general handyman work. To learn more about how you may volunteer with Rebuilding Together Dayton, email Caroline, Seasonal Safe @ Home Director at Caroline@rtdayton.org.

Thanks to in-kind donations and volunteers, we can turn a $1 donation into $4 of impact. Please help us continue to leverage our donations by volunteering your time. Year-round, we are working to create safe and healthy homes for Dayton’s low-income senior homeowners. Through our Neighbor•Care program, we can make critical repairs and complete vital accessibility modifications. Skilled volunteers allow us to leverage our limited funding by saving on labor and only having to purchase materials.
